Serves 2
- 8oz/225g Isle of Man Mature Cheddar Cheeses, a selection
- 2 thick slices white crusty bread
- 2/3 tbsps Branston pickle or home made pickle
- Sweet gherkins
- Lettuce leaves such as bibb
- Cucumber slices or tomato
- 1 spring onion
- Pickled onions
Method
- Arrange the butter and bread on a large platter or plate
- Cut 4oz/110g of Isle of Man Mature Cheddar per person, (it is niceto have a choice of two or more Isle of Man Mature Cheddars). Try 2oz/50g of each cheddar and arrange these on the same Platter / plate
- Put the pickled onions and chutney or pickles on the side of theplate, along with a fresh tomato left whole and the spring onions
- Make sure there is salt and pepper available, as well as some good real ale or cider!
